Jeremy, born and raised in Traveler's Rest, South Carolina, embarked on a unique journey that shaped his artistic career. After attending Winthrop University, where he studied Psychology and Painting/Photography, Jeremy initially planned to pursue a career in psychology. However, fate led him to manage Tom Sachs's studio in New York City, diverting his path toward the world of art. Seeking a break from the art scene, Jeremy returned to South Carolina, where he explored various trades such as trim carpentry, brick masonry, and other building/fabrication projects for three years. Eventually, his passion for painting resurfaced, prompting him to move to Los Angeles, where he currently resides in Koreatown. While working for a gallery, Jeremy dedicated himself to pursuing his own artistic endeavors. His preferred medium is oil paint on linen, and his paintings often embody storytelling elements. Influenced by magical realist writers, he seamlessly incorporates magical elements into ordinary scenarios, inviting viewers to engage with the narrative. By employing actions and iconography in his work, he provides a foundation for viewers to contribute their own interpretations. Above all, Jeremy's love for the process of painting shines through in his creations.
